When we moved into our current house, we had just the one kid so it was a perfect match for us and our small family. Two kids, one foster son and exchange students later, we have ran out of space. Not having a basement really put a damper on things. It is so cramped that even our thoughts are bumping into each other. (That’s serious stuff).
We will be giving up the luxury of having a babysitter that lives one door down but fortunately, we are not moving that far. The new house is still walking distance from the old one.
This is going to be our third house in eight years but it is also THE house. To make sure of that, we are actually building to our specifications. We would have a basement for
Daddy The Boys to play and more bedrooms so that they could have their own. One of the reasons for us moving was the fact they were sharing one room and getting them to go to bed nicely was like asking them to keep their hands in their pockets in a Toys-R-Us store. It could takes upwards of 3 hours from bedtime to sleep time.
We are also trying to sell our house without the help of a Realtor. If we could, that would save us a bundle. Possession date is set for the middle of July but I won’t be holding my breath. My main worry is that we would sell our house and not have anywhere to live while we wait…Wish us luck!
