Yesterday Amie and I spent 8 hours working on our latest major project. Landscaping. So far, it’s making our basement reno seem like a cake walk. We are working on the first phase which is widening our driveway by adding paving stones. This sounded way easier than it is as it involves a lot of moving dirt around and digging the base.
We managed to get quite a bit done and experienced some great neighborly acts. One of our neighbors dropped by with his excavator and helped us to load our wheelbarrows. He also lent us a compactor to compact the gravel we were laying down. Another neighbor made sandwiches and snacks for us while yet another made a run to the store and brought us cold drinks. What a blessing! Even the neighbors’ kids pitched in and helped us shovel and spread dirt.
Good neighbors are a rare find. Great ones are even rarer. We are lucky to have found some great ones and really appreciate their kind and thoughtful acts. Here are some pics from our ‘community’ event.
